i wrote this song in guelph, ontario, while subletting lenny landa's apartment. i had an excellent view of downtown guelph. my daughter LOVED this apartment because we had an elevator (so exciting!!). at the time, i was working at cfru 93.3 fm which is the campus radio station at the university of guelph so i guess i was thinking a lot about radio! i also wrote another song mentioning radios called “we can’t change the past” around this time that my friend barzin recorded. it eventually came out on a spanish label as a limited release in spring 2014.

do your soul some good
and do what they said you should
and fall in love with me.
radio friendly fire. the sovereign music of our desire.
and tonight you belong to me.

radio friendly fire. music of our desire.
i know you know we know and there’s blood on the radio.

force magnetic strip.
kiss me on the lips
and tell me your secret dreams.
you should wear a dress
and tell me more with less.
tonight you belong to me.
