I've written a lot about this song in various blogs and so on. Basically, one of my musicians I work with came over for a beer (as he is from Berlin) and after hearing his trials and tribulations, I said, "Oh! I've written just the song for you!" (which I had earlier that day). Kilian strongly encouraged me to record this tune.

Not too long after, I started working with Mark Zubek of Zedd Records in Toronto, Canada, on this track. We actually changed the key that day in the studio which meant I had to re-learn the whole song really quickly. Luckily we are all pros and can do!

Later on, we made a video for this song at Digital Canaries Studio + Sets in Hamilton, Canada, who really took a chance on making a very well-produced video utilizing 25ish local actors and an equivalent number of staff all at their expense. It was perhaps the most exciting and entertaining thing I've ever done in my life, and I'm forever in debt to Simon Winterson who directed the video for this song.

The photo I've included here is an alternate for the cover of the Operators single and was taken by Victoria Somers, who was also Wardrobe on the video and the "girlfriend" in the second verse of the video.
